Im exhausted!

There are so many things I want to do and need to do but so little time. I started school 2 weeks ago. Wedding still needs details touch up here and there. Homework is overflowing..... on top of my full time job (been working 45+ hours) and I still keep my weekend job :) every other weekend and keep me pretty busy.

Im whining! haha but I really cant give up any of them. For the moment anyway. Im going to take couple weeks off from the part time job for the wedding but thats about it. I love Peter's Creek. Just love the people and they are part of my life. The people there helped me go through some rough time. I will never forget :)

Evelyn and Donna (two of the residents) are going to come to my wedding. Im very excited! I picked up my dress over the weekend and I still love it :)

We saw Ron and Kathy, The Shivitz, and I got a chance hanging out with Sabrina over the weekend. It was a full weekend but I got to see people I care about. Im physically exhausted but Im pretty happy.

Anyway thats about it for now :)

Busy fun weekend!

Ty and I had a full weekend. We started by cleaning the house on Saturday morning. Then we went and visit Melissa at the winery for her food and wine pairing event in Woodinville. I met her mom for the first time :) They had lamb caesar and some delicious crostini with water crest spinach spread with tomatoes on top... YUMMMM We stayed for a little while and hang out with them as well as drinking some wine ;)

Then we went to Rose and Iika's wedding reception in Des Moines :) We had great time there too. I got to catch up with my friend, Nadia. Time went pretty fast before we went to Laura's house to get some engagement pictures done.

It was hard to get my face straight when Im with Tyler at times :) so it quite a challenge to get picture taken with him. At the wedding, it will be pretty interesting. LOL Laura was such a great photographer :P She had to put up with me and Ty, Poor thing! ;)

Sunday was a little mellow than Saturday. We went to his parents house up in Sammamish. He helped his mom organized the garage. Melinda and I were talking a lot of details about the wedding. It was fun and we actually get some stuff done! Ty did a fantastic job in the garage! What a guy!

Evening came pretty fast, it was time for us to go to see Janey and Don just down the hill from Ty's parents house. It was the first time Ty was going to meet Janey and Don. I met Janey about 6 years ago on the bus :) We both used to live in Issaquah area. We keep in touch till this day. It was a fun day. Great companies, great food and wine ;) again. Busy weekend...... but we were happy we were able to do it all

How I know?

People say when you meet the right person. It is like magic. You just know.....

For me however, It takes everything of me to be able to trust that there is a second chance.... Tyler is a gem. He has proven it to me from the day I met him. He is supportive, loving and caring. I cant be luckier.

Relationship isn't easy. We have our issues. Everyday isn't always peachy but like he always tells me, at the end of the day, we know we love each other. He irritates me sooooo much at times and I know that I have my share to do the same thing to him :)

It has been a wonderful time being with Tyler. I cant wait for the future with him. It is no Cinderella story and it is no magic but one thing I do know. I will never take him for granted like he never takes me for granted.

We are ecstatic about our upcoming wedding. It will be very small but it will be a celebration of us.....

Cheers! I can say I do believe in love ;)

If you want to lie, Make it Good :)

Hahaha so here is what happened. Ty and I bought Evie a blue beads necklace from Mexico. It is the one that she can just put over her head. Something easy but still trendy for her :)

However, we told her that she cant tell people that we got it for her :) SOOOOOO She created a story :) part of it is true and part of it is not.

She told the people that it was a mother's day gift from her niece, Lisa. Lisa lives in Renton and so on and so forth.

She said, "Right, Michelle?" I told her "Of course! That was sweet of Lisa!" haha

Later on that day, Evie told me, "Well if you want to lie, Better Make it Good!" :) We just love Evie! :)

Vegas Baby :)

So Im taking Tyler to Las Vegas for his birthday :) Just want to do something different but it just happened that we planned this before Mexico trip hahaha. I know I know it sounds like we travel all the time but this would be our last one for a while hehhehe

We are going to stay in Stratosphere. They have mixed review but hopefully we get a good luck there. It is just the memorial day weekend. We are hoping that Ty's bro and sis can make it too :)

Other than that I have been trying to get over this horrible cough I got and no it is not swine flu :) Tyler has been taking a very good care of me. It got to the point where I couldnt talk and just keep coughing.

Anyway, I created our travel blog and website. You guys can see it at http://tylernmichelle.webs.com/

I will post pictures and more blog there when we got back :)

What A Great Day!

So the day started as a usual day yesterday.... later on in the day the good news started to flow. First by Tyler's phone call, he told me that he got job at Siemens-Gates Foundation. OH MY GOD! After all these time that he has been trying to find something. He finally did. Way to Go Babe, Im very proud of you for keep trying and be in a great spirit!

After I get home from work, Ty and I went to Overlake hospital to see his dad who got his third surgery, trying to fix his back and legs pain. Guess what? He was walking like a champ! The surgery is very much successful! He was joking around and was in a very good mood. We are all very very happy to see that!

The last but not least :), it is two days before our Mexico vacation! We both can hardly stand it! haha one good news after another. Someone above is definately watching over us. We thank you! I probably wont have any time to write another blog until I get back from Mexico. Have a great week guys! Talk to you or see you all when We get back!

XOXO

One Year Anniversary

I cant even believe that It has been a year :) Blame it on Facebook shall we say? hahaha one of those silly emails match making thing got Tyler and I to talk to each other and finally met. Exactly one year ago today.

We have been together ever since. Sure there is ups and downs, big bumps and small bumps :) I am grateful everyday that he is in my life. Sometimes he put me to shame for acting like a little child. He definately makes me want to be a better person.

Im not going to ramble about our relationship and bore you guys out of your mind :) But things are great, Im happy and that is all that matters right?

Our trip is coming up in 8 days.... no Im not counting :) so we try to save up a little. We are going to do low key dinner and enjoying each other company. That is all :)

Happy Friday and Have a wonderful weekend!

Challenges in My Life

Yesterday was quite an interesting and challenging day needless to say. I have an ongoing issue at work since January. For some reason the central fan that is right above my desk at work passing on some cigarette smoke smells randomly almost everyday. Not only Im allergic to smoke (causing me to have ichy eyes and runny nose) but it also gives me headache.

I have been dealing with it. Trying not complain much. I wear a mask when I smell it and take some headache medication as well as eye drop. I just think it is very much ridiculous that I would have to medicate myself while Im trying to work! I finally had it yesterday. I stuttered telling my supervisor that I cant do it anymore. I broke down and cried.

Eddi (my supervisor) told me to go home. She felt bad but she has been telling the office manager to deal with it and it has been months ...nothing really happen.

Ty and I had some pho noodles for dinner last night. We went to a restaurant and waited and waited..... people who came earlier than us was served and was eating their food while Ty and I sit there and sit there..... finally I said okay lets get out of here. We just left and went to another place.

Finally home..... and I checked my email. Found out that I need to take a loan for my college while before I was supposed to not worry about it. Ty did a lot of pep talk to me on this. I am at peace with it :)

It was one of those days that everything drop on my lap at the same time. But I made it to another day again.

Love you guys! Love you Ty :)

A Great Weekend!

Busy busy weekend for Ty and I. Saturday morning was started by sleeping in! Yay!! Then throwing wheat dough for cinnamon rolls hehehe. I had to leave it for a couple hours or overnight so yeah. Hehe Ty was scared watching me throwing the dough since I was sitting on the kitchen floor kneading and throwing. Hehehe

So then........ We sat around and watch a movie :) Went to the supermall to get some easter treats for Ty's family. We got invited to go to Wade's place. In the evening, I went swimming while Ty went to have a quick visit with Dan and his family. THEENNNNN I had to get ready for the Blue Ball for Andy's Birthday in Shilshole Bay Beach Club.

The place was so much fun. 80's music and all :) I only had one shot :) Raspberry vodka with Tara. They had some wonderful Italian finger food. All very yummy! Finally after almost a year, Andy got to meet Tyler haha I know I know... I need to get a little more of a life LOL We got home almost at 1 am haha it was fun but man I was super tired! Here is a picture of us and the birthday boy :)

I had to get up at 6 am the next day heheheh I know gruesome! hahahahha Thats right folks hehehhe cinnamon rolls had to be form early since it takes 2 hours to rise for the second time :) I was barely awake while I was rolling the dough hahhaha heck I didnt remember making the cream cheese frosting! haha

They turned out really good :) I was surprise hehe Since it was made from mostly wheat flour. It isnt as soft as if it was made with white flour. We spent the day at Wade's. Just Sarah, Ty, Wade and I. We watched a movie and just relax. Wade made awesome fritata :) mushrooms, sausage, green onions and lots of cheese! YUMMYYYY!

By the time I got home. I crashed hahaha I was sooooo tired but soooo happy. I was able to manage to go to my friend's party and celebrate easter :)

The weather is really nasty and rainy but nevertheless... I had a great weekend and I hope you guys' weekend are as wonderful as mine :) Happy Easter!

Finally Friday!

It has been a long week for me. One special deal project after another. Enough to make me work even more hours than I already do. So as my excuse hahaha I ditched those morning workouts that I planned. I did only one day :( I was pretty dissapointed at myself :(

So finally it is friday! During mid morning at work, I got bouquet of flowers with Teddy bear :) The receptionist said IS IT FROM YOUR BOYFRIEND? hahaha I just wink at her hehe I didnt tell. Of course the ladies (Eddi and Marilou) are very nosy hehehe I love them though. It is from my American Parents :) They are so wonderful to me. I cant say it enough nor thank them enough. They have done so much for me and my family. I love them to pieces. They call me their Indonesian daughter :) or at least that is how they introduce me to people.

I went to my chiropractor after work. My back has been killing me! and one of the problem is I havent swim for a while! I used to do that twice or three times a week! Shame shame I know! So I went home, made some chicken curry in the crock pot and some brown rice. After I put everything together, I put on my bathing suit and went swimming for about 40 minutes. I only did 23 laps :( I was out of breath and out of shape! eghh HOWEVER! I was proud of myself that I determine to exercise!

Now Im waiting until Tyler gets here from work so I can eat dinner! haha anywayyyy Have a good weekend everyone!

So I'm Going Back To School

Finally I made a solid move on my plan to go to school. I found a school that has a perfect program for my future career. The councelor asked me what is my plan, what is it that I want to do. I said "Pretty simple, I want to be a CPA"

So Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University has a perfect program for me. Not only I will reach my goal to get my CPA cerificate but those classes I would be taking are also count as credits for my Master. It is a perfect combination!

I will be starting in July 2009. I have to skip the April one since I would be in Mexico. I dont want to skip that for sure! Im pretty excited! They waived my enrollment test since I have solid A for my Math up till my Business Calculus. Im pretty excited about that. I cant wait to go back to school but at the same time, Im really nervous! Im going to take one class for my first quarter and go from there :)

Wish me luck! Hopefully one day I can help you with your taxes! :P

Motorcycle Fun!!

It was one gorgeous day yesterday! Ty picked me up from the park and ride. I had a little snack at home then we were off to go on my second motorcycle ride. It is necessary that I mentioned the bike's name. Its "BELLA" :)

We were battling about where to go. I did the short ride before to Normandy Park by the water so I wanted to try something further. We decided to go to Puyallup and maybe stop at Adam and Kerry's house :)

Some people are dying to see me in this gigantic helmet that weight a ton! haha and my padded jacket that makes me look like a snowman! So here are some pictures!

It was about 22 miles away from my place. A fun ride although I feel like I dont have any bottoms by the time I got there :)Both parents were out but the baby sitter was there with the boys :) We got to visit for a little while with the boys, Jacob and Gavin. They are adorable! They were playing play doh from the easter bunny. I get to make an orange carrot with Jacob ;) It was fun to see them!

One lesson to learn on this ride: I NEED RIDING PANTS. By the time I got home, I was FREEZING! Even though I enjoy the ride :) Next time, I will wear proper gear :) Jeans just didnt do it!

We had awesome Greek Pizza from Trader Joe's and some salad for dinner and get to visit with Tabby (the cat) for a couple minutes because she ditched us and decided she wanted to go to bed instead :)

What a fun day!

A Great Guy Named Tyler

It sounds very foo foo-ish.... but I just cant help but share this with you guys :) I just talked to an 83 years old lady, Eva Burns who told me in happy tears. "What a fine man you have there Michelle, It brought tears in my eyes, How can I ever thank you?" I dont cook or bake anymore and he doesnt want to accept money. He said my money isnt good ....

I told her that Ty would be happy to know that he gains another friend.

So here is the story, Most of you know that I work at a retirement home during the weekend sometimes. I met Eva this last saturday while enjoying the sunshine. I approached her because she seemed sad and disturb. Come to find out that she has been living at Peter's Creek for 3 months. I asked her how come I never see her around? She said she was depress because she needed to downsize when she moved. She needs to go to an assisted living because she had a stroke.

Later in the conversation, she told me that she uses email to connect with her sons and grandsons who live in North Carolina. However, she hasnt able to do that because she is waiting for her other grandson who wasnt able to help her set up her computer.

I said okay, let me see if my boyfriend would be able to help you with that. Of course if you all know my Tyler, he jumped right in without a question. His answer to me was "OF COURSE!"

Just like every other sunday while I work at Peter's Creek, Ty comes to have brunch with Evie, our 91 years old friend who adopt both of us :) like her own. I introduce Tyler to Eva. After brunch, Ty went to Eva's apartment and start to set up her computer, printers etc. He spent a couple of hours there. Toward the end of the day, Eva came to my desk and said "What a great day it has been. We have sunshine and I have a new friend, Thank you Michelle"

It was a rewarding day for both Tyler and I. Indeed I have a fine man like Eva said and I love him very much :)

Here is The New York Cheesecake covered Cherries :)

Crust Ingredients:
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/3 cup melted margarine

Filling Ingredients:
4 8-ounce pkgs. cream cheese

1 ¼ cups granulated sugar

½ cup sour cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

5 eggs

Topping Ingredients:
½ cup sour cream

2 teaspoons granulated sugar

Canned whipped cream (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Place a large pan or oven-safe skillet (that the cheesecake pan will fit inside) filled with about ½-inch of water into the oven while it preheats. This will be your water bath.

2. Combine 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon into a medium bowl. Mix in 1/3 cup melted margarine. Press the crumb into a 9-inch spring form pan that has been lined on the bottom and side with parchment paper. Use the bottom of a drinking glass to press the crumb mixture into the bottom of the pan and about 2/3 the way up the side. Wrap a large piece of foil around the bottom of the pan to keep the cheesecake dry when placed in the water bath in the oven. Put the crust in your freezer until the filling is done.

3. Use an electric mixer to combine the cream cheese with sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Blend mixture for a couple of minutes or until the ingredients are smooth and creamy. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl and then add them to the cream cheese mixture. Blend the mixture just enough to integrate the eggs.

4. Remove the crust from the freezer and pour the filling into it.

5. Carefully place the cheesecake into the preheated water bath. Bake for 12 minutes at 475 degrees, then turn the oven down to 350 degrees and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top of the cheesecake turns a light brown or tan color. Remove the cheesecake from the oven to cool.

6. When the cheesecake has cooled, combine ½ cup sour cream and 2 teaspoons sugar. Spread the sweetened sour cream over the entire top surface of the cheesecake. Cover and chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. To serve, slice the cheesecake into 12 equal portions. Apply a pile of canned whipped cream to the top of each slice and serve. Makes 12 servings.

"I'M DONE SITTING NEXT TO JESUS"

I write this just for Tyler :) He told me to :)

A couple of weeks ago, We took the bus to work together. We didnt take the usual bus, this one was an earlier bus and has a different number. The bus was so full that we didn't get a seat together. Ty sat accross from me with another lady and I sat next to this guy who dress like he was wearing a black robe and have dark hair and long beard. He smells like a walking marijuana. It was awful! Tyler saw my face and started to send me text messages (yes even though he sat accross from me!) I can see he is chuckling and the message was "You sit next to Jesus" Man..... was it hard to not laugh! My reply was "I dont know Jesus smokes marijuana!"

So today, once again we took the bus together and Ty asked me which bus should we take? I said, "The usual one, I'm done sitting next to Jesus!" So he couldnt stop laughing at me! He had the giggle fit! Anyway, he wants me to write this, so there :)

YAY! My Second Attempt Works!

So I tried to make a New York Cheesecake recipe the second time around with a different recipe and YAY YAY YAY it works! The secret is? BAKE BATH! It is from ABC News, from Top Chef at Cheesecake Factory. Just a plain New York Style Cheesecake with sour cream top. It will have cherries on top :) of it too. I will post the picture tommorow.

We are going to surprise Ty's mom for her Birthday. Im excited :)

I actually tried the one that cracked like a 10.0 Earthquake! It wasnt bad but man....it is the ugliest thing that ever come from my kitchen! hahaha seriously....ANYYYYYYYWAYYYY I finally can rest now :) If anyone want the recipe. I would be more than happy to share :)

Puerto Vallarta, Here we come :)

Finally!!! Tyler and I are going to Puerto Vallarta the last week of April. We are very excited. We'll be there about a week, I can hardly wait! I havent have a break for one full week in a year. I have accumulated a month of vacation. Even this, work hesitates to give me the time off....grrrrrr

Im looking forward for good food, wonderful weather and some RnR! Ty and I were doing A LOT of searching and finally decided on one destination :) Puerto Vallarta!

I went to Ixtapa last year with Kathy. I loveeee Ixtapa :) It was beautiful and fun! My most fond memories there were the massage on the beach where you can hear the ocean while you get the treatment! It was awesome!

Im a little upset though today since I tried to make a cheesecake last night and boy was it failed! I should have done the bake bath like I did with my pumpkin cheesecake. This one was a huge disaster. I will make another one today and by God, this one better work! or I wont sleep :P

Anyway I will keep you all posted on how the cheesecake turn out today even if it is another disaster. It is for Ty's mom birthday tommorrow! Sigh.... it better works this time!

Evelyn Emilia Walsh

She is 91 years old. She lives at Peter's Creek Retirement Home in Redmond, Washington where I sometimes work on the weekend as a concierge.

I started working at Peter's Creek on December 2007, a couple months after my divorce. I needed something routine and constant. I work there for 6 months. I didnt have any weekends for those 6 months. I stop working in June 2008.

Im now working there again part of the weekends.
During my time there, Evie has been an inspiring lady. I LOVE HER DEARLY! Even those times that I didnt work at Peter's Creek. I still went and visit her with Tyler.

Here is how we met, One weekend day, I was working at Peter's Creek. It was around noon and all of the sudden I heard a walker quickly pushed and a lady said "I CAN'T MISS THE GAME!" and run with her walker. I was laughing so hard. She was talking about the football game, The Seahawks.

Later that day, She was sitting by the concierge desk. I approached her and asked how was the game? :) She was telling me how exciting it was. Then we started talking more about what she did when she was younger. She was an accountant for The Seahawks!

Evie and I hit it off instantly. I am forever grateful that she is in my life. She makes me see life in a different ways, positive ways. I have never seen a lady who is 91 years old, so sharp, so full of life and so feisty! I love her to pieces!

I have so many stories that I think I should start blogging about her. One was when it was Super Bowl time in 2008. Peter's Creek was setting up a little party for the residents and she saw that there was no booze! She told her 80's 90's years old friends, "Okay ladies, follow me, I have some brandy and we are going to have Michelle gets us some 7 Up, We have some time before the game"

If she forget that I dont work one weekend, she would call me, her message is so dear and funny. "Michelle, this is EVIE, your mother, I meant your other mother. I need you to call me or I will keep calling until you answer the phone. I need to know why you didnt show up today, call me"

For Christmas, Tyler and I got her a new white shirt with beads around her collar and she justttt loves it. She told everyone that is the shirt she got for Christmas from us.

She think Ty and I are just great together. She always has to remind me that I have to be nice to Tyler :) also how much she loves Tyler in his Elvis costume. She told Ty that she is coming to our wedding. LOL the problem is, we asked her, "Who is getting married?"

She loves my bake goods especially banana bread. She always asks about my banana bread. She and I lost our dear friend Betty Frank. She got cancer and passed away last year. All of us, Ty, Betty, Evie and I are such great friends. We were so sad that Betty is no longer with us. We all miss her very much.

People said to me. How can you work at a nursing home like that? Isnt it depressing? My answer? ABSOLUTELY NOT. It is soooooo inspiring to see those older people have so much life in them. They know how to have good times. They make the best of their life. It makes me appreciate things that I take for granted. Just as simple as picking up something I drop on the floor.

Their love for me at Peter's Creek is mutual. I love all of them dearly. I look forward to see them and hear their stories. I feel so honored and blessed that they would share life experience with me.

Not only Evie, but there are so many of them who touch my life in so many different ways. But yes I must admit, Evie has adopted me the most :) and I love her very very much.

I Made it!

First of all, THANK GOD IT IS FRIDAY! Whew.... what a week! I got a cold and yesterday I almost lost my voice! That's a blessing for some people haha. Im hoping for a relaxing weekend. I have some plans line up but I might have to cancel them since it involves being around little ones.... I dont want to share my cooties...

I need to do some cleaning and catch up with my laundry at home! I have some recipe that I'm dying to try. It is spinach artichoke lasagna :P I have all the ingredients. All I have to do is put them together.

I cant believe it is mid March and the first day of spring is today! Let's hope there will be no more snow! I'm so done with snow! I didnt want to go to work today, lately it has been drama after drama here. Its like episodes of "Days of our lives" gone bad!

One good thing today :) Im going to have a massage! hahahha I love my massage therapist! I told her when Im retired, she will have a full time job :D hehehe

Anyway, Have a wonderful weekend!

St. Patrick's Day and My 11th month Anniversary with Ty

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I prepared my first corned beef and veggies meal in the crockpot last night :) It cooks in beer! We shall find out how it tastes tonight :) Ty and I was working on it together. We decided that nothing would beat "Stella Artoise" for a beer!

Also today is our 11th month anniversary. I cant believe it is 11 months. It feels like yesterday he and I met. Time flies when you are having fun :) I love him more everyday. I get really impatient at times and just being a firecracker but he knows and understands my corkiness haha. Poor Tyler! I know ......

During the whole 11 months, I found many wonderful facts about him aside from his corkiness ;) He is great with his family and mine, He loveeeessss me, He never lacks of motivations! (I admire him for this), He lovesss Italian food, He loves 'bella', his motorcycle, He loves to travel, He loves kids and vice versa, etc etc etc.

There is one thing that just blow me away this year is the fact that he dressed up as Elvis for a special 91 years old friend I have at Peter's Creek (a retirement home). Her name is Evelyn Walsh. I love her! I cant Thank You enough that he does this for Evie!

He always thinks of me. A wonderful friend as well as a boyfriend. And yes I know :) I'm a lucky girl :) but if you ask him? He would say "Chicks all ages dig me :)" Well we sure know that Evie (a 91 years old) digs him! ;)
